Hope in the Mercy of Allah

BY
Ayesha Faisall

Do you feel empty and dead inside? Are you struggling in your Iman? Or maybe you have sinned and don’t feel enthusiastic enough to pray again?

Whatever the circumstances are, no matter what you have done in the past, just know that there is hope. Yes, there is hope for each and every one of us. You can always come back to Allah Almighty by repenting sincerely and asking for forgiveness.

You might fall into the trap of despair sometimes and think about how you will get through this? Or will you ever get better again? Allah is Ar-Rahman and Ar-Raheem, He is the most merciful and He loves to forgive people. Don’t let Shaitan make you fall into the despair trap.

Remember, it's okay to feel empty inside sometimes. We are all humans and we all go through the highs and lows of Iman (faith). Even if you are feeling empty right now, just show up on the prayer mat and pray. Cry your heart out. You JUST have to show up. Allah loves you and He will never abandon you.

Allah says in the Holy Quran;

“He brings them out from darkness into the light” (Surah Al-Baqarah Verse: 257)

How to change your life for the better?

1.Repent sincerely

Allah loves those who repent. Even if your past has been a mess, you can always turn your life around by repenting sincerely. Allah forgives all sins. Repentance plays an integral role in Islam. Start by taking small steps. Do your daily idhkar(rememberance), say Astaghfar(forgiveness) and try to pray on time. These small steps go a long way. Allah tala loves you for trying. Talk to Him, tell Him you are sorry and He will forgive you Insha’Allah. Don’t lose faith no matter what. Your Lord is the Lord of the worlds. He is more kind to you than you are to yourself. He can turn your situation within the blink of an eye. Just trust Him.

"Except for those who repent, believe and do righteous work. For them Allah will replace their evil deeds with good deeds" [Quran 25:70]

2.Develop good habits

Developing good habits is the key to living a happy life and successful akhirah. You don’t wake up and become the ultimate Muslim in just one day. It’s a process, it requires daily habits, small steps, and conscious well-intentioned efforts. Yes, you heard that right.

Even if It has been a while since you last prayed, get up and start praying from today.

You opened Quran last Ramadan and haven’t opened it again since then? Don’t worry, start reading it again today. Even if it's just for 10 minutes. Allah tala will reward you for your effort. Insha’Allah.

You asked for something but didn’t get it? Don’t lose hope. Allah is the best of planners and He will bless you with the best.

You are going through an Iman dip? Don’t get sad. Make Dua and pour your heart out.

These honest conversations with Allah tala will prove to be miraculous for you. You will be amazed how these small steps and good habits will transform your life.

3. Have firm faith in Allah

Last but not the least, have firm faith in Allah tala that He will guide you. Hand over your life affairs to him, make lots of Dua, and believe that He will handle everything and bless you with the best.

“Allah is sufficient for me, and He is the best disposer of affairs”

Don’t lose hope in the mercy of Allah.

May Allah tala bless us in this life and the hereafter. Ameen.
