Over 33 Million people were impacted by the devastating floods in Pakistan and more than 2.1 Million homes were damaged. The impact of the floods will last for years with over $30 billion in damages. Partnering with SKT
Salams has partnered with SKT to build a village in Pakistan for those impacted by the floods. SKT has years of experiences in helping millions around the world. Over the past decade, SKT has provided urgent aid and sustainable relief to millions of disadvantaged people across the globe. SKT serves some of the most vulnerable people in the world; those affected - through no fault of their own - by conflict, poverty and natural disasters. Their vision is for a world in which everyone is cared for, thrives, and is free from extreme poverty. As an Islamic charity, SKT has the desire to help the most vulnerable, following in the footsteps of the Prophet (SAW). The village will house hundreds of women and children. Help build a village to house families. With SKT Welfare and you (our Salams users), we plan to raise $80,000 by the end of Ramadan.
Solar Powered Homes - The homes will have a sustainable resource of electricity to avoid any future outages for the families.
Fortified Homes- Homes in the South Punjab District were previously built in Mud. These new homes will be stronger than before and built in brick.
Protecting Women- Women and girls are frequently the most vulnerable in a humanitarian crisis. Building homes where they can be safe is critical.
