Shayan & Aleena

Aleena and I swiped right on each other on Salams around February/March 2018. I was in Waco at the time in College and she was in Dallas; distance was going to be an issue for us at first, but that was quickly solved when I moved there. We reconnected once I moved and immediately hit it off after our first date. We then made plans to meet again and that translated into a series of other dates.

After getting to know each other, we discovered that we had a lot of similarities such as our senses of humor, perspective on life, and values/morals.

While dating for 2 years we grew closer and developed a deep love for one another as I understood her on a more personal level. We soon met each other's family and felt like it was time to take the next step with our Baathpaki (cultural engagement). A few months later I decided to surprise her with an actual proposal with the help of her best friends. We got married in October of 2021.

Thanks to Salams I was able to meet the love of my life, and we haven’t looked back since.
